Ritual passage
This art is installed in the stairwell leading up to the choir loft. It is addressed to the music ministers who serve there, It embodies and reminds us of our ministry and place in the worshiping community.
The images of body and cross unify the art the way they unify us as a people of God. The musical elements in the art unify its composition the way those same elements in sacred music unify the people of God in worship. Our communal union with God in wood or song is physical.
